Odysseus Odysseus is one of the first Greek mythic heroes known for his intelligence and strength. A chivalrous man with outstanding powers. Homer portrayed Odysseus as a man of wisdom, shrewdness, eloquence, resourcefulness, courage and endurance. These are only some qualities in his seemingly invincible character. As great as he was, Odysseus still had some weaknesses that prolonged his voyage back to Ithaca. Nonetheless, Odysseus survived all the ordeals to reach Ithaca safely. The book revolves around the popular tale of the warrior who fought heroically in the Trojan War, who on his return found the going tough but overcame the odds to emerge triumphant. |
