"There
is no security on this earth, only opportunity."
Douglas
MacArthur, an American five-star army general, uttered the above
quote. It was his truth of life. He was a gifted soldier and he
commanded the Southwest Pacific Theatre in World War II.He exhibited
like Lincoln and George Washington, his bureaucratic qualities,
while administering Japan during the post-war Allied occupation
years. He successfully led the UN forces during the first nine months
of the Korean War.
He
was the youngest Chief of Staff in the history of the US army. He
was resolutely dedicated to his country and duty. He was dismissed
from the US Army by Truman at the end of his career.
