Studied Medicine at the University of Padua, Italy.

Graduated from the University of Padua and married Elizabeth Browne.

Went to London and joined the college of Physicians.

Became a member of the staff of St Bartholomew’s Hospital.

He became the Lumleian Lecturer in surgery.

Appointed the physician of King James I.

Led the team of physicians treating King James I.

Accompanied the king on his tours.

Donated a new college building with a library.

Declined the post of president of the college of Physicians.
